About

WordLink is one working part in a new organizational wheel here on UW campus. Academic advising at the University of Washington has traditionally been provided through centralized advising offices (Gateway Center, Educational Opportunity Program Academic Advising and Counseling Center, and Student Athlete Academic Services) or through decentralized offices located in individual departments and programs. Collaborative Learning Links is an intermediate model that stresses student intellectual development, is inquiry-driven, and is based on collaboration between units, grouped by affinity into what we call Learning Links. The Learning Links model of collaborative advising reorganizes departmental advisers into eight broad affinity groups that provide a structure in which we can work together for the student and for our own development as professionals and colleagues.
